Character Description: Ilianna

Physical description: Long blonde hair, green eyes. (In Two-Spirit V2.0: She has green, vine-like skin.)

First appears in: Chapter Two

Ilianna comes from the village of Bark in the Great Forest. She believes that her people are descended from trees, hence her appearance. Her father, Cairt, is the leader of their village. Her clothing barely covers her body, but she usually refuses to wear dresses because she believes it takes her farther from the tree spirits her people worship.

Ilianna accepted the guardianship of the green amulet when she decided to travel with Xya and Elijah. She is a gifted archer but is wary of outsiders. She is often distrustful of Xya and considers Elijah to be her only ally. This is the first time she has ventured this far from home.

Character Description: Elijah

Physical description: Brown hair to the ends of his ears, and blue eyes.

Elijah is the youngest son of Nizhoni. He grew up in Mythokaste with his younger sister, Xya, and his two older brothers. As with all men in Mythokaste, he was drafted into the band of warriors that runs the village. But unlike other men his age, he longs for a more peaceful existence. That, and he often lacks the courage to kill. He will only harm others if it means saving the people he cares about.

When he meets Ilianna, he is convinced that she is the most beautiful woman in the world, but is too shy to tell her so.

Character Description: Xya/Xye

Physical description: Short red hair and blue eyes. She is tall and thin, flat-chested with no hips.

Xya is the first Two-Spirit to be born in Mythokaste for eons. Her body has characteristics of both sexes, and a male and female personality struggle to dominate it. Her mother is Nizhoni. She was told that her father died when she was young, but the Wise Woman is convinced that he is alive, and that his name is Abraham.

Xya is impulsive and has the tendency to be a kleptomaniac. She does have a soft spot for one person: Elijahwani, her brother. He accompanies her on her journey to find her father, and to find the truth about the magickal amulets.

Important note, I've changed the name from Chronicles of Xya to "Two-Spirit" as it is a better title for the story.

Here is a collections of the chapters for Two-Spirit. I'll end up re-writing them all eventually.

Just so you know, this is a first draft. I only do basic editing before posting. It's more of an experiment to see if I can write continuously and chronologically. I guess for a time, I did. But I would like to re-start.

I'm re-writing the first "chapter" of Xya, hoping to turn it into a book. I'm also working on a more suitable website within Faery Ink Press, so that Xya has a better home.

The title says it all.

As much as I love Xya, school has taken to eating me alive. However, you haven't seen the last of her. While I'm busy, I'm slowly eating the past entries and turning them into a more comprehensive story. I'm also writing the prologue--the happenings before her story started so that it makes a little bit more sense. I'm thinking about releasing that in Splat! Fiction Ezine, but I haven't decided yet.
